Job Title: Medical Receptionist (Afternoon Shift)

Position Overview:

Our client, a well-established General Practitioner based in Wierdapark, Centurion, is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join their team. This is an afternoon shift position, ideally suited for someone with experience in medical administration and a passion for patient service.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Answer and manage calls via the practice switchboard professionally.

·        Schedule and manage patient appointments using Elixir Live, including coordinating external referrals.

·        Monitor and respond to emails received via the practice’s administrative email account.

·        Send appointment reminders (calls and SMS) to patients.

·        Greet patients warmly and collect personal and medical information.

·        Process payments and issue receipts electronically.

·        Maintain both electronic and physical filing systems.

·        Coordinate and manage medical aid authorisations.

·        Complete and submit PMB application forms and other relevant medical aid documentation.

·        Perform general administrative and reception duties as required by the employer.

Requirements:

·        Matric certificate (Grade 12).

·        Previous experience working in a medical practice.

·        Proficiency in Elixir Live software is essential.

·        Fluent in at least two languages (bilingual).

·        Strong administrative and organisational skills.

·        Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

·        Professional, courteous, and able to work well under pressure.

·        Team player with a positive attitude.

·        Non-smoker.

·        Tertiary education in a related field will be advantageous but is not mandatory.

Working Hours

·        Monday to Friday: 13:00 – 18:00

Remuneration

·        Market-related salary.
